Dave came to Princeton from Maine Township High School (next to the hospital where he succumbed). He was in the Woodrow Wilson School, was a member of Tower Club and a Keyceptor, and roomed with John Bales and Win Hodges. Active in football and lacrosse, Dave provided tech support for Triangle Club, especially enjoying touring with the shows by train.

After earning a law degree from Northwestern, Dave became a Navy JAG officer, working in the Pentagon as a national security strategic planner.

Dave began Kimball-Hill Homes 40 years ago, following in the footsteps of his father. The company specialized in affordable suburban homes and built more than 4,000 houses in 2006. Coordinating with federal initiatives and the Harvard Joint Center for Affordable Housing, he redeveloped urban areas in Chicago and Detroit, including many buildings devastated in the 1967 Detroit riots.

He was active in philanthropic efforts, including backing a local “safe house” and serving as Midwest chair for ’62 Annual Giving. There is a memorial fund in his name at Harper Community College in Palantine, Ill. The class extends its condolences to Dave’s widow, Diane; his son, David ’98; a sister and brother; and several nieces and nephews.
