He was a successful business executive, a dedicated leader in education, and a respected official in the sport of track and field. Al was loyal to his community and our class, serving as co-chairman of our 60th reunion.

Born in Arlington, N.J., he attended Kearney High School. At Princeton, Al majored in mechanical engineering and was a member of Dial Lodge. He left for three years with the Army ordnance department, returned to complete his degree in 1946, and then earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. After a brief career with his own firm, he joined Rohm & Haas, retiring in 1983 as manager of operations research.

Al had a long love of officiating at track and field meets, and served at hundreds of them, including the Princeton Invitational and the Penn Relays. He was also president of the Cinnaminson Board of Education.

Al’s late brother was Charles H. McCree ’34. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Thel; a daughter, Barbara; two sons, Allister H. Jr. and James; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. At Thel’s request, Herb Hobler ’44 wore our reunion lederhosen at Al’s memorial service, and spoke of Princeton traditions. Condolences go to all.
