At Princeton, David was a member of Prospect Club, the fencing team, and the marching band. He also was an announcer on WPRB. After completing NROTC at Princeton, David served in the Navy from 1952 to 1955. He continued his service as a lieutenant commander in the Navy Reserve.

David loved to write his own musical productions, many of which were performed at his synagogue in Freeport, N.Y. His other great passion was Princeton — and all things orange and black. He was an active member of the Alumni Schools Committee and treasurer of the Princeton Alumni Association of Long Island for many years.

David is survived by Dodie, his wife of 56 years; their son, Phillip ’75; daughters Betsy and Bari ’83; daughter-in-law, Jill; sons-in-law Aaron and Jacob ’82; and grandchildren Ilisa, Evan, Hannah ’11, Sonya, Eliana, Emma, and Lydia.
