He served in the Army Signal Corps in Italy during World War II. He left Princeton after one year and transferred to Rutgers, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. His career was in sales with Hurley Forge in Newark, N.J., until his retirement in 1985.

Elliott is survived by his wife, Marcelle; a daughter, Margaret Rath; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The class extends its sympathy to them.
