Bob entered Princeton from Teaneck (N.J.) High School and joined Tower Club. When Pearl Harbor was attacked on Dec. 7, 1941, he was at Tower playing pool with Warren Egin- ton, with whom he later roomed while working at Donovan Leisure, a New York law firm.

Being smarter than his roommate, Bob wisely accelerated his studies and earned his degree in SPIA in 1944, four years ahead of Eginton. He then became commanding officer of a sub chaser, seeing combat in the Pacific. Before leaving for the war, he married Mary Willliams.

Bob later graduated from the University of Virginia Law School and joined Donovan Leisure. Eventually, Bob left New York and opened his own law firm in Dunkirk, N.Y. He then heeded the call of “Go west, young man” and with his wife moved to Oregon, where he was living at the time of his death.

He is survived by Mary, six children, 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. The class expresses sympathy to the family.
