Peace came to Tom March 4, 2009, in Savannah, ending an eight-year battle with a debilitating stroke. Through it all he never lost that distinctive laugh evoked by his sense of humor.

Tom was born in Kane, Pa., March 10, 1931. He came to Princeton from Mercers- burg Academy and roomed with Joe Briggs, Chuck Kellogg, and Lacy Rice after freshman year. All four roommates were members of Colonial Club. He married Cindy Brown in Syracuse, N.Y., following a courtship of three years while at Princeton and during summers in the Thousand Islands region they both loved. Tom earned a master’s degree in architecture from Princeton in 1955.

During his successful career of more than 40 years in Syracuse, Tom designed everything from churches and shopping malls to beautiful private homes, both in Syracuse and around the country.

Tom was a fine athlete and particularly liked golf, tennis, and skiing with friends and family. He was a good friend and a good man who contributed generously of his talent, energy, and humor to his community and wherever he went.

To Cindy, their four children and spouses, and their nine grandchildren, the class extends its sympathy.
