John Everett died March 15, 2008.

John entered Princeton from Baylor Military Academy in Memphis, just ahead of his brother, William ’46, and joined Terrace Club. His Princeton studies were interrupted by service with the Army engineers. He married Margaret Butler of Memphis and worked for Shelby Manufacturing Co. in that area. However, he elected to pursue an academic career, which ended in the Department of Political Science at SUNY Fredonia.

John’s academic career was forged at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned both master’s and doctoral degrees in political science and where he taught prior to Fredonia. In between Cincinnati and Fredonia, John enjoyed a stint at Texas Christian University, where he served as assistant dean of the graduate school.

John and Margaret had two children, John III and Amy, and they survive him, along with his brother Bill. The class expresses its sympathy to the family.
