Jim died May 12, 2008, after a 10-year battle with lung cancer.
Jim came to Princeton from Ossining (N.Y.) High School, where he played football, basketball, and tennis. Jim left the University in his sophomore year and then returned in his junior year. Unfortunately, he left again but not before he applied his athletic talents to the basketball and tennis courts and joined Dial Lodge.
Jim eventually migrated to Plano, Texas (outside of Dallas), where he spent his business career in the paper-distribution business. He retired a number of years ago from Pollock Paper but then worked part time for CE Supply, both distributors of industrial-paper products, packaging products, paper towels and tissue, and janitorial supplies.
One of Jim’s employers commented, “Jim was a happy man who never met a stranger. Jim was well liked! Even during his worst times battling cancer, he was always upbeat and positive. He was fastidious and paid attention to even the minutest details. I would often tease him about carrying his Daytimer [organizer] everywhere he went. They probably buried him with it.”
Jim’s wife, Linea, died from cancer a few years ago, and they had no children. To his friends, the class sends its deepest sympathy.
