Bob Edwards died March 20, 2009, at his home in Hobe Sound, Fla., after a difficult struggle with lung cancer.
Bob entered Princeton from the Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn., following in the footsteps of his father, Duncan 1885, and brother, Alexander ’43. Bob joined Ivy, was captain of the hockey team, and began a golfing career that was to extend throughout his life and in which he won many club championships. Appropriately enough, he and his wife, Gloria, lived for many years on the grounds of the Chicago Golf Club.
Bob served in the 8th Air Force as a bombardier, flying several missions out of England over Germany before returning to Princeton to receive a degree in politics in 1947. He and Gloria married in 1947 and had a daughter, Sally. Bob spent many years with R.R. Donnelley & Sons and became a recognized expert in the printing business.
Bob is survived by Gloria; daughter Sally Simpson; two grandsons; and his sister, Eunice Tenney. The class expresses its sympathy to them all.
