Glen was born in Schenectady, N.Y., and attended the Albany Academy. At Princeton he rowed on the varsity crew and joined Key and Seal. He earned his degree in architecture. Shortly after graduation, Glen and Mary Perry were married. Glen was taken into the Army and assigned to an engineering battalion in the 94th Infantry Division. He fought with this battalion through the end of the war as a member of Gen. George Patton’s Third Army. This duty took him through the Battle of the Bulge, into the Ruhr Valley, and ultimately into Czechoslovakia, where he found himself when the war ended. He separated as a sergeant.
After the war, Glen and Mary lived first in Schenectady and then in Waynesboro, Va., where Glen worked as plant engineer for Dawborn Brothers. When that business was sold, Glen retired to Charles Town.
Throughout his life Glen remained devoted to and proud of his family and his connection with Princeton.
