Pete died Nov. 22, 2008.
He prepared at Scarborough School. At Princeton, he majored in English and graduated with honors. Pete was manager of the Student Lunch/Ice Cream Agency and a member of the Parking Squad and Terrace Club.
During World War II, he served in the Navy’s Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He re-entered the Navy in 1951 for a second tour of duty as a lieutenant. His business career was in the field of marketing and advertising research and publishing, which included some years working with National Geographic .
According to Pete’s entry in the class yearbook of 1980, his spare time was spent in a small machine shop in his cellar, where he built miniature engines as a hobby. He also enjoyed attending class dinners in New York whenever possible.
His wife, the former Claudia Matthews, predeceased him. To his son and daughter, his classmates extend sincere sympathies.
