The relationship between the University and the 10 eating clubs will be reviewed by a task force of students, alumni, faculty, and staff that is expected to begin meeting this month.
The group, formed by President Tilghman and Connor Diemand-Yauman ’10, president of the Undergraduate Student Government, was announced on the first day of classes and is to offer recommendations by the end of the academic year. Robert Durkee ’69, University vice president and secretary, will chair the group.
Among the areas to be studied by the group, according to its charge, are “whether there are ways to improve the club experience for students who are members and the application process for students who wish to become members; whether there are ways to increase engagement with the clubs for students who currently choose not to become members; [and] whether there are ways to strengthen relationships between the clubs and the colleges and between students in the clubs and students who choose not to join the clubs.”
