Born in St. Louis, he graduated from the Blake School. At Princeton, he majored in philosophy and was a member of Quadrangle Club. His many campus activities included serving on the business board of The Daily Princetonian.

Doug graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1959. He completed residency training in psychiatry and then served in the Air Force. He practiced psychiatry in Edina, Minn., helping many people over his career. An avid reader and bicyclist, he loved kayaking in the Gulf after he retired to Sanibel Island, Fla.

The class extends its sympathy to his wife, Jean; daughters Cindy and Diane; son Stephen; sister Mary Lee; and nine grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family, to whom he was devoted.
