Bill prepared for Princeton at Choate School. At Princeton, he majored in economics and S.P.I.A., graduating with honors.

Bill was a member of the freshman swimming team and the junior varsity swimming team his sophomore year. He joined Tiger Inn. Freshman year Bill roomed at 36 University Place, sophomore year at 122 Foulke, and junior and senior years at 23 Patton with Jake Fricker.

After graduation, he spent a year with Standard Oil Co. and then joined Farnsworth TV and Radio Corp. as a salesman. When he left Farnsworth nine years later he was assistant to the president. For the next 10 years Bill did electronic marketing for General Motors, becoming a sales manager of its tube division. From 1958 to 1960 he served as vice president of Hoffman Electronic Corp.’s semiconductor division, after which he assumed the position of marketing manager at Sperry Rand’s semiconductor division.

Bill married Margaret Garceau in 1941. They had two children, Katherine and William. In retirement Bill and Margaret lived at Murrels Inlet, S.C., before moving to Connecticut. Bill is survived by Margaret and their children and their families. To them all, the class expresses heartfelt sympathy.
