He studied at the Western Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh and was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1952. Over the years Larry was called to many churches in many locations — Pennsylvania, North Dakota, New Jersey, and then back to Pennsylvania. In between these ministries he served as a Navy chaplain on a destroyer and with the 1st Marine Division.

After his retirement Larry settled with Lottie in Manheim, Pa., but he kept active in various synods of his church. In our 40th yearbook, Larry looked back on his “many different ministries in four continents,” observing he had “touched the lives of many different kinds of persons.” He said he “enjoyed having played a part in God’s care for all of them, and I am still learning.”

Princeton, he told us, nurtured his faith, even as he enjoyed campus life to the hilt.

Larry died July 7, 2009.

With appreciation for all his service to others, we send our warm wishes to Lottie, their three children, and four grandchildren.
