Ron came to Princeton from Cumberland Valley (Pa.) High School, where he was an Eagle Scout and senior class president. At Princeton, he majored in basic engineering, played football, and was a member of Cottage Club.  

Ron was one of the top quarterbacks in the history of Princeton football and was ranked sixth in the nation. Ron won the John P. Poe Memorial Trophy in 1975, was named to the all-Ivy league team in 1975, was named a scholar-athlete by the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame in 1975, and was NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Student-Athlete of 1975. After Princeton, he earned an M.B.A. at Pepperdine University and worked in executive positions at a number of companies in the professional salon-products industry, including the Hair Cuttery and Matrix.

Ron coached all of his four children through football, basketball, and baseball as a volunteer over 26 years.
