Ben Moore died Dec. 20, 2008.

Ben prepared for Princeton at Lakeside School in Seattle and joined Terrace Club. His Princeton studies were interrupted by service in the Pacific as a radio technician with the Navy, seeing action on Bikini Atoll and in Japan at the end of the war. He returned to Princeton and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1947.

Ben moved to Haddam, Conn., married Jacqueline Carter, and joined Spratt Carlson Manufacturing Co. in Deep River, Conn., as its production manager for woodworking products. He later became chief engineer for Safeway Heat Elements in Middletown, Conn., where he and Jacque raised a daughter and son. Ben continued as engineering-product manager for Safeway for several decades.

In their final years, Ben and Jacque enjoyed much travel and retirement at a condominium in Cromwell, Conn.

Ben was predeceased by Jacque. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy; son Roger; and several grandchildren. The class expresses its sympathy to the family.
