Bogh died Dec. 21, 2009, in London, England, after battling colon cancer.

Bogh came to Princeton from Tabor Academy. A swimmer, he was in Cannon Club. He was scheduled to room with swimmers Barry Bosak, Bill Hilliard, and Dave Moran senior year, but Dean Lippincott gave him a sabbatical. He returned and roomed with several ’64ers, including three swimmers. He graduated in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering.

After Navy OCS he served six years, including a tour in Vietnam. Subsequently, Bogh spent a year touring Europe and Africa with Duff Stewart (they summited Kilimanjaro).

Based in London, his career involved overseeing large-scale energy projects worldwide. After retiring to Anzio, Italy, in 2006 from Halliburton in Singapore, he was diagnosed with advanced cancer.

Coach Bobby Clotworthy h’62 remembers Bogh as a determined walk-on with a “smooth stroke” and “talent” in distance events who “improved dramatically” as a freshman and sophomore. When given only months to live, Bogh targeted “100 months.” Incredible support from his family enabled him to truly enjoy the September 2009 wedding of his daughter Kira (Duff Stewart attended).

The class extends its condolences to his wife, Caroline; children Kira, Sarah, and Robin; and his sisters, Turi and Nina.
