In MEN’S HEAVYWEIGHT CREW, a broken rudder cable caused Princeton’s first-varsity boat to lose control and collide with Harvard in an April 17 race on the Charles River. No one was injured in the collision, and the Princeton rowers were ferried to shore on the launch.
Jack McBride ’11 scored five goals and assisted on two others as MEN’S LACROSSE dominated Dartmouth, 16–2, at Class of 1952 Stadium April 17. With the win, Princeton improved to 4–0 in Ivy games and earned a spot in the four-team Ivy tournament.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE scored four goals in the last 11 minutes against Harvard April 17 but could not catch the Crimson, who held on to win, 11–9. Princeton dropped to 3–2 in Ivy play.
SOFTBALL pitcher Jamie Lettire ’10 pitched complete games in two of Princeton’s three wins over Columbia April 17–18. She also hit a home run in her team’s lone loss to the Lions in a four-game weekend series.
Jon Broscious ’10 hit his team-leading eighth home run of the season as BASEBALL topped Columbia, 9–3, in the opening game of an April 18 doubleheader. The Lions won three of four games in the weekend series.
WOMEN’S WATER POLO won five consecutive games — all against CWPA Southern Division opponents — to end its regular season with a 17–8 record. Goalie Kristen Ward ’12 averaged 8.4 saves per game in the five wins.
