Sim’s pride and joy was the Class of 1948. He led it (as president from 1988 to 1993), goaded it (AG, reunions, trips, activities), and loved it dearly. The Class of 1948 loved our Sim as dearly.

Sim possessed a great generosity of spirit as well as ordinary generosity. His wit was ready. His good humor and kindness were manifest. He was a wonderful, caring friend.

Sim was taken from us the evening of Nov. 15, 2009.

At Princeton he was a member of Tower, served as WPRU stationmaster, and was active in Theatre Intime and Triangle Club.

Sim’s service to Princeton included many years on the Alumni Council executive committee. His part in moving 1948 from a war-torn class to a more unified, active force has been a major contribution to the University.

Sim joined R.H. Macy Co. in 1953. He received promotions regularly and was senior vice president in charge of personnel and labor relations at the time of his retirement in 1983. He served as life member and board chairman of Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield, N.J., and was a member and chairman of the National Captioning Institute (closed captions on TV for the deaf and hard of hearing).

Sim is survived by Nan, his wife of 53 years; his daughter-in-law, Debbie; and grandchildren Jonathan and Katherine. Son Warren III (“Sam”) predeceased him. The class joins Sim’s family in praise and gratitude for a fine friend.
