Robert died of cancer Aug. 13, 2009, at his home in Kimberton, Pa., with his family by his side.

Robert lived in the Philadelphia suburbs and was raised in Cape May County, N.J. He started Princeton as a physics major and then took a year off to travel throughout Europe, returning to Princeton as an English major. He married Cynthia Wisting in Princeton and they lived in Spelman Halls his senior year.

After graduation, Robert worked in journalism. He eventually started writing books with business professors at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and other prominent business schools. Robert co-authored more than 20 books.

He loved kayaking and took pride in his 20-day trip down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon — during which he had no contact with civilization and found out about Hurricane Katrina a full week after it struck. Robert was a lover of life and learning.

Robert will be loved and missed by Cynthia; sons Anders and Pelle; daughter Larkspur; Anders’ fiancée, Brisa; his extended family, and all who knew him. The class extends its sympathy to them.
