“Jonesy” came to us from Brooklyn’s Poly Prep, where he’d been active in football, track and lacrosse, and he roomed freshman year in Holder. But beyond that, our directories are almost empty of details of his campus and career life.

The exception is our 10th-reunion book, in which it is reported that Lloyd graduated in 1944 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, then spent more than two years with the Navy as a lieutenant in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He then began a career with Bethlehem Steel in Hoboken, N.J., held other assignments, rose to management, and ended at company headquarters in Bethlehem, Pa., where he also resided until his death — only recently reported to us — on Aug. 8, 2002.

He had been married and had a daughter, but no family was listed on his last papers. We regret his loss to his friends and the class.
