Rog, a 48-year resident of Montclair, N.J, died April 18, 2010.
He attended Carteret Academy and the Taft School, following his father, Roger Hinds 1906, to Princeton. He majored in geology and was a member of Triangle, Right Wing, and Cottage clubs.
He had four years of active duty during World War II, serving as an Army artillery officer in Kodiak, Alaska, and the Luzon campaign in the Philippines. He retired from the Army Reserve as a major.
Most of his business career was spent with GF Corp., a national business-furniture manufacturer. He retired in 1982.
Rog was on the governing board of the Congregational Church in Montclair, serving as treasurer, senior deacon, and head usher. He volunteered with the Red Cross, Mobile Meals, and the SCEEP tutoring program.
Rog attended Princeton football games, reunions, and golf and tennis outings. He wrote, “For some strange reason the golf and tennis never seem to improve even after a lifetime of trying.”
He was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia (Wingate). He is survived by his wife, Marie Dale; his daughter, Melissa Sickmund; his brother, Gelston; and three grandchildren. His classmates extend heartfelt sympathies to them.
