Dick died Oct. 16, 2009, at Hamilton (N.J.) Continuing Care Center.
He was born on Merino Hill Farm near Allentown, N.J., and came to Princeton from the Peddie School. At Princeton he majored in geology, took his meals at Gateway Club, and roomed in South Middle Reunion.
Dick worked for RCA Corp. in Camden, Princeton, and Hightstown prior to his retirement. A resident of Crosswicks, N.J., for 62 years, Dick was an active member of various community boards and organizations. His lifelong love of the land was expressed through working at his family farm, as well as extensive travel with his wife.
Dick was a loyal Princeton alumnus who attended many reunions and class events. He came from a long line of Princetonians, including his father, Henry H. Wright 1903; his uncle, Walter Wright ’21; and a cousin, Frederick Wright ’56.
In 1937, Dick married Margaret Ellis, who died in 1996. Their son, Richard S. Wright, died of cancer in February 2010, leaving a wife, three children, and six grandchildren. Dick also is survived by his daughter, Anne, who provided this information to us. We join Dick’s family in mourning his passing.
