Rog died Jan. 5, 2010.

He was born in Chicago and lived in Winnekta, Ill., where he attended New Trier Township High School. He was an honor student and on the basketball team. At Princeton he majored in philosophy and was awarded the Dickinson Prize. He was a member of Cannon Club and graduated with honors.

Rog earned a law degree from North-

western University Law School. For three years he worked for Uncle Sam, starting as a private in the military police and ending as a captain. He served in the international law division of the Judge Advocate General’s office. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his work on the staff of the Nuremberg trials, about which he published nine volumes. He was a member of the American Society of International Law.  

Later he became a trial lawyer and during his career he was vice president of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago as well as a collector of contemporary art and literary and historical manuscripts. One of his hobbies was golf.

We shall miss this distinguished classmate and send sympathy to his family and friends.
