Princeton football played its best defensive game of the season at Yale Nov. 13, holding the Bulldogs to one offensive touchdown and fewer than 300 yards, but Yale took advantage of turnovers, including a long fumble return for a touchdown, to edge the Tigers, 14–13.

Yale scored first when defensive back Geoff Dunham stripped running back Meko McCray ’11 and ran the ball 57 yards for a touchdown in the opening quarter. Princeton responded with scores on two consecutive drives — a 33-yard field goal by Patrick Jacob ’12 and a touchdown pass from Connor Kelley ’14 to Trey Peacock ’11 — and briefly took the lead in the second quarter.

Yale (7–2, 5–1 Ivy) went back on top before halftime, completing two long passes in a four-play, 59-yard touchdown drive. The Tigers inched closer with a 35-yard field goal by Jacob in the third quarter, but that would be their last foray across Yale’s 40-yard line. Princeton’s final four drives ended in punts.
