Edgar Igleheart died Nov. 8, 2009.

He entered Princeton from Choate, joined Cottage Club, and was captain of the varsity polo team. His Princeton studies were interrupted by service with the 35th Quartermaster Pack Troop, which saw action in Burma and China, before he returned to receive a degree in economics cum laude in 1948.

Ed spent the rest of his life in Indiana, serving in the 1960s as mayor of Newburgh. An accomplished horseman, Ed devoted his life to farming and raising beef cattle.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, the former Elizabeth Benoist, Ed is survived by his daughters, Hope Igleheart and Cary Igleheart Grady; a sister, Phyllis; a brother, Addison ’55; granddaughter Laura Balsollier; four stepchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. The class expresses its sympathy to the family.
