“Pete” served as a lieutenant (and later was promoted to captain) in Alaska during World War II. On his return to Princeton he became a stringer for The New York Times and in that capacity interviewed Albert Einstein on at least six occasions.

Graduating in ’49, he soon married his beloved Christine, who, sadly, predeceased him in 2006. They moved to Glenview, Ill., and Pete enjoyed a busy career in public relations work until ’86. He and Christine raised two children, Larry ’75 and Lindsay, and ultimately enjoyed two grandchildren.

In retirement Pete and Christine traveled, wintered in Florida, and summered in their lakeside cottage in Leelanau County, Mich.

Pete remembered his Princeton days with affection. In our 40th yearbook he wrote, “Those of us who carry the banner for ’47 today have much to be proud of. Our class has really come together, despite the dismal way it started in the early ’40s.”

He died Dec. 6, 2010.

We send our very best wishes to Pete’s family.
