Bob Graveson died Nov. 19, 2009.

He entered Princeton from White Plains (N.Y.) High School, and joined Campus Club. His Princeton studies were interrupted by service as commanding officer of the U.S.S. YF720 with the 7th Fleet, which saw combat in Guam and Manila, and he ended his service in Shanghai. Thereafter he returned to Princeton and earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering magna cum laude in 1947 and a master’s degree in electrical engineering in 1948. He worked as a director at the Atomic Energy Commission.

Bob married Jane Abbot, but they later divorced. A loving father, he raised five children in Briarcliff, N.Y. He was active in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed travel. Following his retirement he toured the United States in his RV before settling in Florida.

He is survived by his loving companion, Eunice Simpson; his children, Deborah Sluzar, William Graveson, Sandra Graveson, Pamela Kidder, and Susan Graveson; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, to whom the class extends its sympathy.
