James Glennon died March 22, 2011, at his home in Greenland, N.H., with his family by his side. He was 52.
Jim graduated with high honors in biology and was president of Cloister Inn. He earned a medical degree from Tufts and practiced medicine in New Hampshire’s seacoast community for over 20 years. Most recently, he spent a decade as the first medical director of Core Physicians at Exeter Health Resources of Exeter Hospital.
Jim loved his children beyond measure. He was a tireless Boy Scout troop leader; a Little League, softball, and soccer coach; a frequent field-trip chaperone; and a constant presence at his children’s events. His son, Noah, remembers his father’s immense wisdom: “He seemed to always know the right thing to do.”
Jim was unflappable in adversity, with his devilish sense of humor (honed at Princeton!) evident even in his last days. He remained hopeful throughout an arduous battle against pancreatic cancer, striving throughout to spend as much time as possible with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie R. Martin Glennon ’82; children Emma ’14, Samuel, Noah, and Suzannah; his parents; and his sisters.
