Re From the Archives (May 11): The shaggy guy in the middle of the front row is Mark Cohen ’73. I’m sitting to the left of him. I’m pretty sure that the person visible between the outstretched arm and the bare toes is Janice Cuny ’73. The three of us, along with Barry Nobel ’73, Robin Hilton ’73, Steve Robinson ’73, Paul McGuire ’73, and Mike Carr ’72, were all independents who cooked and ate dinner together daily during the 1971–72 school year. The kitchen equipment was stored in Mark and Barry’s room in Brown Hall, where we also ate each night. We cooked in the kitchen upstairs and washed our dishes in the bathroom around the corner.

Jan is a professor at the University of Oregon in Eugene. She married Steve, who teaches high school science. Robin retired from consulting work to raise her two boys and lives outside of Seattle. I think Mark manages a TV station in Sacramento, Calif., and I’m about to retire after 34 years working in IT at UC-Berkeley.
