William Boyd Harding  died June 29, 2011, in Allentown, Pa.

Boyd prepared at Columbia High School in Maplewood, N.J., where he was a member of the student council. During his two years at Princeton he was on the dean’s list both years, was a member of the board of the Nassau Lit, and was active in Theater Intime.
 
After leaving Princeton at the end of sophomore year, Boyd did reference work at the Newark (N.J.) Public Library. During the war he served in the New Jersey State Guard. He then matriculated at Rutgers University and graduated in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in American history and social science.
 
For many years he traveled as a representative of R.L. Polk & Co., a provider of information in the automotive industry. In recent years, he worked for Allentown Public Library.  
 
Boyd never married. He is survived by his sister, Mary H. Raymond, to whom the class sends sympathy.
