Below, Jonathan Vinocour ’01 talks about the experience of playing Hector Berlioz’s viola concerto “Harold in Italy.” Vinocour performed the piece two years ago with the San Francisco Symphony orchestra.

Jonathan is an outstanding recent addition to the San Francisco Symphony, someone I have heard and reviewed (for repeatedly, with the rare ability to make the viola solos sing rather than merely growl, the way mere humans do. Bravo!
