Fred died June 12, 2011, from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

He came to Princeton from Henry Snyder High School in Jersey City, N.J., where he was captain of the tennis team. At Princeton, Fred took his meals at Court Club, was a member of Orange Key, and was a newscaster for WPRB. His roommates were Mike Bennett, Steve Schupack, Marty Rosenblatt, Spencer Sherman, and the late Gabe Schwartz and Joel Kraut.

After Princeton, he graduated from Columbia Law School in 1961. He practiced in Asbury Park, N.J., specializing in workers compensation law. He was past president of the Monmouth County Bar Association and received the Abraham Zager Award, exemplifying the highest standard of his profession.

Since graduation, he had an unbroken string of attending at least one Princeton home football and basketball game every year, usually with his children and grandchildren. He continued his love of tennis, playing singles until 2010.

To Robin, his wife of 48 years; his sons, Kevin and Jed; his daughter, Alison; his grandchildren, Joseph, Sam, and Lauren; and his sister, Susan, the class sends sympathy.
