Harry died Sept. 4, 2011, along with his wife, Elinor, in a car accident in Falls Church, Va., where they had lived for 40 years.
Harry graduated from Mercersburg (Pa.) Academy in 1945, served in the Army, and came to Princeton in 1947. He began majoring in aeronautical engineering, but at the end of his junior year switched to philosophy and religion and graduated with ’52. He sang in the choir and Glee Club and was an officer of the Student Christian Association and the Lutheran Student Association of America. He married in October 1951 and spent two and a half years after graduation at the Lutheran Theological Seminary. After a further change in thought, he turned to a career in systems analysis, eventually with Analytical Services Inc., retiring in 1991 as vice president for health systems.
Harry embraced all aspects of life with probing curiosity. He read widely, and his entries in reunion books were rich reflections on the nature of change in the world. He and Elinor traveled widely, often taking their grandchildren, who were left motherless when daughter Susan died of cancer.
They are survived by their son, Mark, and Susan’s children, Kirin and Nikolas.
