PAW is sent to all Princeton undergraduate alumni courtesy of class dues. It is provided to graduate alumni as a benefit of membership in the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni. Graduate alumni who are not APGA members receive six issues each year, courtesy of the Alumni Council and the APGA.
PAW is available to anyone by subscription for $22 a year ($26 for Canada and other foreign countries). To subscribe, mail a check made payable to Princeton Alumni Weekly to: Subscriptions, Princeton Alumni Weekly, 194 Nassau St., Suite 38, Princeton, NJ 08542. We also accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. For credit card orders, please include the account number, expiration date, and billing address. Subscriptions will not be processed without a credit card number or check in hand by the business office. Questions? Call 609-258-2107 or e-mail nsm@princeton.edu.
To change your address, please notify us at paw@princeton.edu. While the database is changed immediately, it takes four to six weeks to have PAW delivered to the new address. In addition, please send your updated address information to Alumni Records.
Yes – a special address line can be created for PAW recipients who live in the same household, request only one PAW, and wish both names to appear on the PAW label. It is limited to 30 characters. Please e-mail cmorris@princeton.edu the wording you wish for the special PAW line. Also be aware that changes take about six weeks to become effective, so you may continue to receive an issue or two before you see the change in the label.

Student interns work at the PAW office, and several students write the On the Campus column on a rotating basis. Students also contribute to PAW’s news and sports coverage.
Memorials are written for PAW by members of the subject’s undergraduate class or, in the case of graduate students, by a member of the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni. Please submit information to pawnotes@princeton.edu.
PAW welcomes information about new books, CDs, and DVDs by alumni and faculty. Because of the volume of submissions, we are unable to include all works in our printed issues. Books, CDs, and DVDs that are not covered in print will be included in the “New Books and Media” listings that are updated periodically on the PAW Web site. Self-published books will not be included. To submit news of your new book, CD, or DVD, click here.
Guidelines for Writers Whom should I contact about writing an article for PAW? PAW accepts freelance contributions for several sections of the magazine. We welcome ideas and queries from our readers, particularly from alumni, faculty members, and other members of the University community. We receive many queries, however, and it may take us several weeks to reply. We often hire freelancers to write profiles for our Alumni Scene section, articles about books and the arts, and major feature articles. Alumni spotlight: These profiles run in the Alumni Scene section of PAW and generally are 300 to 500 words long. Writing one of these profiles can be the best way to break into PAW. To propose a profile, e-mail associate editor Kathy Federici Greenwood at federici@princeton.edu with a two-paragraph query telling what makes the alum you want to write about so interesting. Please submit a resume and up to three published clips. Books and arts: Like alumni profiles, these articles – mainly profiles of alumni or faculty authors and artists – are 300 to 500 words long and run in the Notebook or Alumni Scene sections. These are another excellent way to get started as a PAW freelancer. Send a two-paragraph query along with a resume and up to three published clips to associate editor Kathy Federici Greenwood at federici@princeton.edu. Feature articles: PAW’s feature articles generally are about 3,000 words long. Proposed articles must have a strong Princeton connection. If you have an idea, please submit a query letter of up to two pages, telling us how you would approach your topic, whom you would interview, and what makes the topic a great fit for PAW. In addition, please submit your resume and up to three published stories that are similar in length and/or style to the article you are proposing. Payment varies, depending on the length and complexity of the article, the amount of reporting required, and the experience of the writer. E-mail your query to editor Marilyn Marks *86 at mmarks@princeton.edu. Perspective essays: PAW encourages alumni and faculty members to submit personal essays for our Perspective section. Our goal is to publish a wide range of voices. An ideal essay runs about 1,100 words and has a personal, reflective tone. We do not publish op-ed articles. If you would like to write an essay for PAW, please submit a short query letter with a resume and clippings, or send the completed essay for consideration. Please e-mail your essay or query to editor Marilyn Marks *86 at mmarks@princeton.edu. Other sections: PAW occasionally contracts with freelancers to write articles in other sections of the magazine. For our Notebook (news) section, contact managing editor Ray Ollwerther ’71 at wollwert@princeton.edu. For sports, contact associate editor Brett Tomlinson at btomlins@princeton.edu. For all other queries, please e-mail editor Marilyn Marks *86 at mmarks@princeton.edu.
Contact art director Marianne Nelson at mnelson@princeton.edu for details.
Print corrections appear at the end of the Letters column under the heading “For the Record.”
Online, the text of articles will be corrected, and a notice will appear at the beginning of the article to alert readers of this fact. A note will appear at the end of the article to explain the correction.
In addition, online corrections from September 2008 are archived separately and can be found in the Letters section by going to the Letters (Archives) link and clicking on “Current academic year,” then selecting “For the Record” among the categories under “Browsing Letters.”
