(Oxford University Press) This work, organized in a question and answer format, outlines the legal issues facing Indians and Indian tribes, such as the Indian Civil Rights Act and questions of tribal sovereignty. The fourth edition of the book includes a new introduction by John Echohawk, the executive director of the Native American Rights Fund. Pevar is a senior staff counsel of the American Civil Liberties Union.
