Dick died Nov. 26, 2012, at age 77.
At Princeton, Dick majored in biology, joined Elm Club, and played 150-pound football. He was active in the Orange Key and IAA sports. He roomed with Frank Elliott and Byron Bell.
He graduated from Yale Medical School in 1961 and did his internship and residency at Case Western Reserve. He was chief resident at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland before moving to Elyria, Ohio.
In Elyria, Dick opened a private pediatric practice that he maintained for 40 years. He walked to and from work each day and lunched at home with his wife.
He loved sports and was always on the sidelines at his grandchildren’s athletic events. He was head varsity girls’ lacrosse coach at Hawken School for 10 years. He served as assistant field hockey coach for the 2011 and 2012 academic years. He enjoyed reading, travel, computers, and movies, and was active in many associations.
The class offers its condolences to his wife, Barbara; and children David, Deborah, and Jennifer. His daughter, Susan ’83, predeceased him. He was a special family man.
