Herbert Zogelmann, the son of Hans Zogelmann, was born Sept. 10, 1934, in Vienna, Austria, and died Nov. 14, 2011, in Vienna.

Before entering Princeton, Herbert attended Seipel Realgymnasium, participating in student government and track, and the University of Vienna Law School. He came to Princeton under the Fulbright Exchange Program.

At the Woodrow Wilson School, he wrote his senior thesis on U.S. foreign policy in Africa. He joined Prospect Club and was active in Whig-Clio, the International Relations Club, the Outing Club, the Camera Club, and the Speakers’ Bureau. Senior year he roomed at 24 South Edwards Hall.

Herbert earned a Ph.D. at the law school at the University of Vienna and had a long and fruitful career as magisterrat (municipal counselor) and was also a member of the university council.  

He is survived by his daughter, Ursula. To her, the class extends its sympathy.
