Jim joined the class after graduating from Choate, where he was a member of St. Andrew’s Society and the student council. At Princeton he majored in chemistry and joined Quadrangle. He roomed with Mat Loufek and Joe Murphy. Later he earned a master’s degree at the University of Texas in Austin.

After his career as a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch, Jim and his wife, Joan, moved to Charlottesville, Va., where they spent 18 years, and Jim pursued his interests in golf at clubs there, and in yachting at Biscayne Bay, Fla. Jim died May 31, 2013, at home.
