Chuck came to the class from Evanston Township (Ill.) High School and roomed with Andy Deiss and Hank Overbeck. He withdrew after sophomore year to attend the University of Wisconsin College of Agriculture, expecting to manage his family farm, according to his entry in the Nassau Herald.
After service in the Army, however, he earned a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the law review. He practiced in Washington and was deputy chief counsel at the IRS during the Nixon/Ford administration. He taught tax law at the University of Georgia and at UVA School of Law. He later practiced tax law in Albuquerque, retiring to live with his wife, Marcia, in Corrales, N.M.
Chuck died Aug. 20, 2013, leaving Marcia; his son, Charlie; and daughter Sarah ’88, to all of whom the class offers sympathy.
