A fount of tireless exuberance and a committed Tiger booster, Dick was born Oct. 29, 1932, in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of Noel Richard Hueber.

He prepared at Phillips Andover and majored in politics at Princeton. A member of Campus Club, Dick won numerals in freshman lacrosse and football, and a major “P” as varsity basketball manager. Senior year, he roomed with Ray Freeman. He served two years in the Marine Corps.

Dick’s interests included supporting Democrats and restoring historic houses (an interest that continued in his work on Campus Club). Another interest, running, led to his 19 1/2-year marriage to comely long-distance runner Rita Alles. From their townhouse in Hamilton, N.J., the couple enjoyed each other and the activities of their 17 grandchildren.

Nobody could match Dick’s enthusiasm for all things Tiger, and his voluble appreciation set the standard for ensuring one’s viewpoint is heard. Dick’s 81st birthday was Oct. 29. On Oct. 28, after a long day, he came home and, while Rita was preparing the evening repast, fell to the floor, never to arise. It was a massive stroke and he died Oct. 31, 2013. To his survivors, thanks from the class.
