Jim Johnson died peacefully Feb. 18, 2014, at his home from the effects of cancer.

Jim came to Princeton from Greencastle, Ind., and majored in religion. He was a member of Cloister Inn and the Princeton Sailing Team. He followed a long family tradition of Princetonians, including William Johnson ’31, Joel B. Johnson ’32, and Peter Johnson ’67.

After graduating from Case Western Reserve Medical School, Jim settled in the Princeton area. He owned a medical practice in Hopewell, N.J., for 35 years, where his specialty was family medicine. He retired to St. Pete Beach, Fla., where he could sail year-round. He loved the island beach life, grilling in his back yard, and watching basketball, especially Princeton basketball.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet Kocisko Johnson; daughter Ana Krista Johnson, her husband, P. Patrick Hogan, and their children, Jake and Zoe; and daughter Jennifer Moyse, her husband, Josh, and their son, Dashiell.

Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Class of ’69 Community Service Fund. A fine physician and a friend to many classmates, he will be missed.
