Our class sustained a significant loss when Vince died Nov. 16, 2014.

It is both unusual and a reflection of a life well lived that Vince’s many accomplishments, professionally and civically, are arguably the least important parts of the rich legacy he leaves. A founding partner at Spears, Benzak, Saloman & Farrell, his career in investments was distinguished and impressive. He was a regular on television, appearing to discuss financial matters, where he conveyed his skills, charm, and his from-the-heart warmth.

Most memorable about Vince was how much and how often he extended himself to so many people — as a friend, a mentor, a source of sage and sound counsel, and unfailingly, as one generous with talent and treasure.

Vince was a dedicated leader of the Class of 1969, which he served as a vice president. He also took an active role in our major-reunion Annual Giving campaigns.

Throughout a long illness, he enjoyed a robust and rewarding life. He was supported by his beloved wife, Clotilde; his children, Vince, Chris, Nina, and Joseph ’03; granddaughters Lola Jane and Virginia; and a legion of devoted friends. We will all long remember him with great admiration and affection.
