Randol died May 24, 2015, in the presence of his loving family. He was 81. He was a descendant of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, one of Maryland’s four signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Randol graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. While at Princeton, he joined Ivy and played varsity lacrosse. His senior-year roommates were C. Woodward, E. Faber, S. Emery, B. Verner, H. Wilgis, and T. Carey.

After graduating, he served as an officer in the Navy aboard the USS Stickell. Upon his discharge, he worked in chemical engineering positions in the Baltimore and Philadelphia areas. Randol retired in 1998 from the PQ Corp. in Valley Forge, Pa., where he was vice president of technology.

He lived in Chestertown, Md., pursuing his passion for sailing in the Chesapeake Bay, where he belonged to the Rock Hall Yacht Club and St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Crownsville, Md.

To Anne, his wife of 54 years; sons James and William; and four grandchildren; the class extends its condolences for the loss of this fine man.
