(Lars Müller Publishers) The “L.A. Ten” were a group of architects that, over a three-decade period, helped shape the architecture of Los Angeles. L.A. [Ten] is a collection of oral history interviews with many of the original 10, who offer their perspectives on the cultural history, environment, and characters of L.A. architecture during that time. Stephen Phillips and others conducted the interviews. Phillips is an architect, historian, and associate professor of architecture at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He also is founding director of the Cal Poly L.A. Metro Program in Architecture and Urban Design.
