He entered Princeton in 1942 and then joined the Navy V-12 program at Cornell. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and returned to campus in 1946. At Princeton he helped found the Princeton Jewish Society.
After graduation in 1947, Mat joined his family’s business, the William Intner Co., manufacturing sleep products. After closing that company in 1973, he structured new enterprises, consulted for companies in the United States, worked on an incubator project with Technion in Israel, and gave advice on projects of China’s Huazhong University in Wuhan. He was active in many alumni, social, religious, and philanthropic groups.
Mat is survived by Sheila, his wife of nearly 53 years; four children, Carol ’78, Susan ’79, Betsy, and Jonathan ’84; and nine grandchildren.
