Isabella Williams died at her home in Lafayette, Ind., July 26, 2008.

Born in Pittsburgh, Isabella graduated from McKeesport (Pa.) High School in 1965 and married Marc H. Williams *75 in 1966, joining the Class of 1972 and majoring in history while Marc was a graduate student in aerospace and mechanical sciences at Princeton. Isabella previously had studied at Chatham College, Johns Hopkins, Pitt, and Penn.

In 1981, Isabella and Marc moved to Lafayette, where Marc is now a professor in Purdue University’s aeronautics/astronautics school. Isabella was a housewares buyer for a department store, proprietor of a cooking school, owner of a women’s clothing franchise, and a jewelry retailer. She devoted much time and effort as a board member of the Greater Lafayette Museum of Art.

Isabella also taught English and, with her husband, sponsored scholarships for Purdue’s Society of Hispanic Engineers and opened their home to a number of Ukrainian exchange students, whom they subsequently enjoyed visiting in their travels.

In addition to Marc, Isabella is survived by sons Richard Williams and Juri Jatskevich; her brother; Paul; and five grandchildren. To all of Isabella’s family and friends, the class offers its sincere condolences.
