Born Jan. 13, 1927, in Philadelphia, Scott graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and served in the Navy during World War II before coming to Princeton.
He earned his degree in electrical engineering, was secretary of the student branch of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, and roomed with Lee Christen, Dick Ferris, and Charlie Stockton senior year at Cannon Club. He married Donna Faye (“Coni”) Conover in September 1951; Christen, Stockton, and George Chimples were in the wedding party.
Scott went to work for General Electric after graduation, and remained there until 1992, the bulk of his career having been spent in electronics sales. After retirement he was active in Probus of Orange County, Calif., as its president. Probus clubs are organizations for men and women who have retired from their PROfession or BUSiness and want to maintain a social network.
In 1996, Scott had successful double-bypass surgery. In 1998 he and Coni moved to Sun City, Las Vegas, and in 2006, Coni died. In 2007 he had open-heart surgery for valve replacement.
Scott died Sept. 15, 2008. He is survived by his sons, David and Michael; his wife, Christine; and his grandson, Adam Viguers.
