Paul prepared at George Washington High School in New York City. At Princeton he was on the cross country squad and served as program director of WPRU. During junior and senior years he roomed with Charlie Peabody. He was a member of Dial Lodge and graduated with honors in history.

Paul had three careers. Initially he worked as creative director of the Compton Advertising Agency in New York. For a time he was a writer for Princeton University’s Office of Development. Finally, in 1988, he became executive director of Fellowship in Prayer, an organization dedicated to promoting peace through prayer and understanding. Under his leadership Fellowship in Prayer initiated the highly successful Companions on the Sacred Journey conferences. In 1990 he created the Worldwide Day of Prayer and Meditation to Help Heal Mother Earth, an event endorsed by the Dalai Lama. As Paul grew older he tried to live more and more by the Buddhist mantra, “Let it go, watch it flow, enjoy the show, emaho” (hooray, isn’t it all wonderful).

To Paul’s wife, Anne, and his daughter, Brooks, the class sends sympathy. It honors the memory of a classmate whose life was directed by a strong sense of the spiritual world.
